In afara de lacurile mari, de baie si agrement, ca lacurile Forgensee, Alatsee sau Weissensee, in Allgäu sunt o multime de lacuri mai mici in mijlocul muntilor. Din acestea am ales cele mai frumoase si importante. De mentionat ca in lacul Alpsee din Schwangau, la poalele castelului Hohenschweistein (castel apartinand parintilor regelui Ludwig al II) s-a inecat regele Ludwig II al Bavriei.
